Chapter 12 [We finally arrived at the Adventurer’s Guild. It appears that the guild is surprisingly nice.]

The adventurer’s guild was crowded with people, who have finished their quests, and I entered alongside Lyle-san and them.
Even though Lyle-san and they headed straight towards the counter without hesitation, the surrounding adventurer’s saw that they didn’t have their belongings from when they left the town, and the worn out John-san, and became noisy.

“Lyle-san, welcome back! From your appearance, it can’t be said that you look alright, but what happened? Also, who are these Jou-chans?”

The guild receptionist, whose age was around 18, with a sweet look, looked at me and Tet like a squirrel with curious eyes.

“I’d like to report back on the request. Also, these girls are our benefactors that saved us during the request.”
“I understand. Then, I’ll receive your report in a separate room. Then these Jou-chans……”
“For the time being, we’d like to join the guild and require identification. Also, we’d like to convert the goods we have on hand to money.”
“Well then, we’ll receive you in another room to deal with your guild admission and conversion of goods.”

There, Tet and I were separated from Lyle san, and guided to a special room.
I wonder if active adventurers who finished their request are given more priority than new adventurers, I thought as they dealt with us crudely.
It was getting close to dusk, so I’d like to pick an inn somewhere, and sleep on a bed for the first time in a while.
While we waited, Tet and I behaved like a spoiled child and played around, as I was being healed by the softness of Tet’s breast that were pushing against my back and her nice smell.
Then, feeling good on the sofa in the special room, I leaned against Tet and slept.

“Huh? Majo-sama, are you resting? Then, Tet will protect you.”

Or I felt like I heard a voice say that.

Side: Adventure Trio
“I see, so you’ve confirmed the existence of an Orc King.”
“Yes. At the time when we were scouting, we fought once, and in the second fight John was injured, and we were saved by Chise and them, and were able to come back.”

The guild master who was in charge of this request, listened to our story, and had a thoughtful expression on his face.

“The subjugation of an Orc King is B rank. And there’s around 200 high-class species mixed in the orc group in the colony. Comparing to past incidents, let’s send out a request of C and D rank parties centered on a B rank party. During that time, I’ll have you guys work properly as well. Until then, rest yourselves, and prepare your equipment.”
The guild master had a fierce look and gave out an order for us to go to subjugate the group of orcs, so we nodded.
Then, after a long report, the guild master asked as he took a breath.

“By the way, the girls that saved you, to put it short, what kind of existence are they? According to your report, she’s a magician that healed John with water magic and subjugated the Orc wizard with wind magic, and a swordswoman who can use earth magic and smash the crown of an Orc warrior with one strike. Solo she’s D rank. Depending on the situation, aren’t they powerful people that’s befitting of a C rank?”

Her judgment to aim at the Orc wizard in the beginning with a glance, she must’ve battled with one before, or have the knowledge to do so.

On top of this, she also possesses the rare magic bag, so with only that, the duo’s usefulness is high from an adventurer’s point of view.

“As for us, we feel that the Jou-chans…… the magician Chise is the daughter of a noble who ran away from the Empire’s coup d’état. However, Tet Jou-chan is, how should I say this, she’s not like a maid or like a knight. It’s hard to put it in words. But, she’s not a bad person.”

“How should I put it? She feels like she’s ignorant of the ways of the world. Even though her magic abilities are high, she doesn’t even know what a big copper coin is. Also, she performed a medical treatment that I’m unfamiliar with, and she’s a kind girl that reads too much into various things. Also, even though she charged us a doctor fee in the forest, it was four silver coins with the food expenses included too. If you ask a priest to use healing magic with that type of wound, normally it would take more than 10 silver coins with that alone.”
“Even though we had a hard time, they’re nice people.”
Having said that, the guild master thought about the words that the Lyle and John adventurer siblings reported.

“If they ran away from the coup d’état, we’ll treat them as commoners even though they were former nobles. However, if the things they took from home aren’t stolen goods, we’ll buy them. Even though she has skills, she’s a child. Recommend them a highly safe inn.”
“Guild Master. Thank you.”

I bowed my head, but the guild master snorted with an hmph.
The guild master had a frightening look, but frankly he was nice to the female children.

Side: Witch

When I noticed, it was already the evening.
During our nap, a male guild member came by, but it seems like he didn’t want to wake us up since she looked tired.
Then Tet shook me awake when she felt like it was around the time that I should wake up.

“Majo-sama~, wake up. Majo-sama~.”
“Yeah…… Tet, 5 more minutes~.”
“That person’s troubled~.”

Having said that, I rubbed my sleepy eyes while waking up.
It appears that I became mentally tired without noticing it.
I looked at the young male guild staff member with my half opened eyes.

“Good afternoon. It seems like you’ve come to register at the guild, but are you fine?”

Towards the gentleman, I blankly nodded my head.

“…..Yes, we’ll be in your care.”

I took the hood off the hood that left on, bowed, and opened my eyes in surprise, as a smile crept onto my face.

“Well then, I’ll explain the guild rules alright—-“

Then, he explained about the guild, but to put it simply, they’re a general merchant group, which is dived from highest S Rank to the lowest G Rank.
Don’t commit murder, assault, fraud, blackmail, and other crimes that are commonly accepted in this world.
And if you committed a crime, it seems like the guild’s crime judgment jewel can look it up.

“Well, first off, write your details on this document.”
“Alright.”

The contents of what I wrote were just my name and specialty.
Come to think of it, this is my first time seeing this world’s characters, but I can read and write them for some reason.
However, Tet held the pen and froze.
She absorbed the power of the spirit captured in the dungeon core and acquired language capabilities, but she didn’t learn the characters to write.

“I’ll also write on Tet’s behalf…… come to think of it, are there any races that can’t join the guild?”
“Races like elves, dwarfs, dragonewts and therianthropes can register. However, let’s see, the species called ‘demons’ are hostile against humans, so it’s probably difficult for them to register.”

Because they’re hostile against humans, as a result of them committing murder, assault, fraud, blackmail, and other crimes commonly accepted in this world, they’re often target of subjugation.

“Well, there are demons that coexist with humans, but that’s an extremely small amount of them. Perhaps, is she a demon?”
“I don’t know. I only know that it’s a race that’s related to spirits.” 1

How to dodge the question that Tet’s a new species called an Eartnoid? Depending on the situation, Tet might not be able to join. As I thought about these things, the young male guild staff laughed cheerfully.

“Even if that’s the case, you’ll be fine. It’s said that elves originated from water, wind and light spirits, and dwarves originated from fire and earth. It’s been said that dragonewts are the descendants of humans and dragons who loved each other, so we don’t mind rare races that originate from spirits or halves at all.”

Hearing that, I was relieved, but the guild staff member countenance changed completely, and dropped his voice tone worrying about Tet.

“However, there are also areas and countries that strongly believe in human supremacy rule. In those kinds of places, it’s better to hide her identity and everything will progress smoothly.”
“…… Right, I’ll keep that in mind.”

I humbly nodded my head, and handed him the registration form.

“Well then, when you pay your registration fee of three silver coins, I’ll hand over your guild card.”
“Sorry. We don’t have enough money right now.”
“It seems like you have things you want to sell, so you can register in advance, and deduct it later. Then if you can’t pay off the registration fee completely, the guild will loan you the rest.”
“Please then.”
“Then, I’ll hand over the card to you two first. If you put some mana into the card, your registration is complete.”

Having explained, Tet and I held the jewel in our hands in turn, but it’s not like we committed a crime, so the blue judgment color appeared.
Therefore, I paid the registration fee of 3 silver coins, inserted mana into the card he handed over, and checked my name that was written on the guild card and my status.

Name: Chise (Reincarnator)
Lv37
Health: 420/420
Mana: 2815/2815

Skill: [Staff Arts Lv 1] [Origin Magic Lv 3] etc.
Unique Skill: [Creation Magic]

This simple thing I like about this.
Then, as I touched the part I wanted to be hidden with my finger, while I told in my mind to have it disappear, so the [Reincarnator] race entry and unique skills would disappear.

Afterwards, I did the same to Tet’s status, but her health and mana both coexist as a golem core’s mana, so hers only displayed her name and harmless and nonoffensive sword and other skills.

Thus, Tet and I have obtained the status of an adventurer.

  1. If you forgot, Chise’s race is ‘Reincarnator’, thus she’s confused about what exactly she is.

  1. thanks for the chapter.

Also, ugh, another super template “adventurer’s guild” scene huh? I always wonder how it’s possible for the MC to “register” like this and also somehow conveniently hide all their OP powers and cheats. Like, what’s the point of the organization going through this registration nonsense if the people registering can conceal all the information the guild gets from the registration at their own whim? Doesn’t it defeat the purpose of having a magic registration tool? Might as well just give her a piece of paper and a pen at that point lol

    1. Tiny spoilers (Caution!):

“Adventurer Guilds” in novels feel sorta like a job agency in that most of the time; they really don’t care what you do. Therefore, they respect the rights of their members so more people will join without having to worry about their secrets being revealed. If a person had all their secrets revealed, then I believe most people wouldn’t want to join the guild imo. Also, she is given paper and pen in the next chapter, so you did call it kek.

    2. Adventurers are an inherently shady profession. Where battle maniacs are the most upstanding people you’d find, and the common ranks filled by refugees, fallen nobles, orphans, power-hungry mages, rogues with get-rich-quick schemes…
Resourcefulness and surprises are their stock of the trade.

Which is why an adventurers’ guild that wants to organize these people and limit the damage they do, has to not ask too many questions, and keep secrets about what they do ask.

Adventurers’ guilds who fail at being popular among adventurers, often end up with a “shadow guild” competing with them, undercutting prices and ruining the profession’s prestige.

  2. “The guild master had a frightening look, but frankly he was nice to the female children.”
