Measures to Improve the Potion Quality

I put the small, completed potion vial, and lined up the scrap papers that I took notes on up until now, on top of the sofa table and thought deeply.
So far as it goes, during the process of making the slightly sweet normal potion, I tried “slightly pickling the leaves and not immediately filtering it”, “stirring the leaves when they’re pickling” and various different methods, but I couldn’t go beyond the [Normal] quality.
Mother, who was passing by, caught me with all those notes scattered about.

“Oh my, you’re conducting the trial and error. Well done. But, if you keep accumulating those writings, the results you’ve researched are going to be scattered. Perhaps you need a notebook,” Mother said, then searched the house and gave me several unused notebooks.

I finally got my hands on a personal research notebook!

Getting back on point, how to improve the quality of the potion. Even when I’ve resorted to various different means, the quality hasn’t changed. So that means in the first place, it might’ve been due to the ingredients being “slightly wilted” leaves? ……That’s right, the point I was concerned about in the beginning.

I went to the kitchen and tried inquiring Bob, “Hey Bob, can you cook something delicious with wilted greens?”

“Hmm, probably not. I go to the city early in the morning and buy freshly harvested vegetables. The best are the freshly grown ones in my own fields in my opinion……” he smiled and answered, lamenting that he could not create a field in the mansion.

“A field, huh?”

I returned to my room and returned to read [Introductions to Alchemy]. If I remember correctly, there should be an entry about making good soil.
Hmm, mhm. I flipped through the pages.
Here it is, [Rich Dirt].
……Let’s see, if you stir “Fertilizer”, “Nutrients”, and “Dirt” while heating them up with mana (this is called alchemic fermentation), you can create[Rich Dirt] effective for cultivating plants.

[Fertilizer] is horse manure, night soil, etc. (Ehh!)
[Nutrients] is created with alchemy. (See separate section.)
[Soil] is preferred to be soft [Humus] found in forests, etc.

Let’s check out the [Nutrients] page……
[Nutrients] is created by mixing plants, water, and mana grass.
……Isn’t it fitting for just nutrients to have a considerable amount written?

I explained the process I’ve researched up until now and discussed that I would want my own herb field eventually.
It’ll take some time before I actually need a place for a field, so it seems like Mother will discuss with Father to arrange a place in the meantime.
After that, she requested me to help the gardener Dan when he’s creating the fields.

“…… Nonetheless, you’re going to heat the fertilizer and mix it? Sounds like it’ll stink.”
Mother said as she covered her nose with her handkerchief.

……I think so too. Seems like stench is part of alchemy……

  1. Many minor errors with novel not text but plot
MC dies reincarnated then disappears that defeats purpose of reincarnating in the first place
Reincarnating at 15 isn’t very good due to listed life experience
Do you honestly expect readers to believe that the MC at 5 years does all this
You said MC pickled the herbs before use when did she do that it takes a long time to pickle something
Why would the mother cover her mouth with a handkerchief when MC only mentioned that she wanted to make fertilizer
Why can’t they buy the fertilizer from another alchemist
You said the potion was normal yet they where shocked by how effective it is why

    1. As a matter of fact The true MC is Daisy but the previous MC bestowed her knowledge to Daisy and left, the things and deeds which follow after the job bestowal(a job gotten by god) are all Daisy.. and she doesn’t do the alchemy work alone(stuff like boiling or using fire), and did you even know that basic knowledge can used in any/every place. Are you even sure that the previous soul host lived till 15??

  2. I can’t see the problem with her age: it feels like a kid conducting a science experiment. Cute, and I don’t get how life experience is an issue. She didn’t pickle the leaves, she blanched them lightly. The mother covered her face with a handkerchief after her daughter mentioned fertilizer, because the fertilizer is poo. Poop is gross. It smells bad. The mother was imagining the horrible stench that would be made when her daughter does stuff with poop. Why don’t they bu’ty it from another alchemist? It’s good experience for the MC to make her own Rich Soil. Getting familiar with alchemy is Mc’s goal. If they only wanted the end product, they could easily buy it from any store. Lastly, the reason why her parents were amazed by the MC’s average potion was because it was something she made. And she is 5. Parents get excited over kids when they walk for the first time. Imagine your 5 year old decided to cook breakfast for you, and they actually made a decent sandwich without your help, for the first time. You would be proud, of course. Same feeling.
