Character Creation (2)

If you are reading from a pirate or aggregator site, please read from the translator’s site: yado-inn (dot) com I have to put the link like this or else the bots will remove it, sorry 🙁

The first thing to watch out for when becoming a VTuber is whether you can grasp what kind of person you are from an objective point of view.

For example, if you thought you were a madman and tried to act like a character who acts like a madman, then which point makes you ‘mad’ compared to other people? If you don’t understand how to display the ‘mad’ portion in an interesting way, you wouldn’t be able to make the best of your ‘madness’ and just turn the viewers off and get into a situation where you aren’t gaining viewers as much as you’d like. 1

Thus, VTubers who in practice understand what points make themselves popular, are popular as one would expect. 2

One can understand this by looking at the number of viewers on the channel page of the immovable first rank Vtuber belonging to one of the two Big Vtuber agencies. 3

Viewers who go to a channel page they have not subscribed to will be able to watch recommended videos, where Vtubers can show and have them understand what kind of a VTuber they have been since the creation of their channel.

It’s a way for one to analyze which points about yourself can get you better reactions from your viewers. 4

Of course, it’s necessary to keep track of what is actually popular, but it’s easy to go smoothly if you decide in the beginning what kind of direction you plan to take in your mind.

Also, to effectively showcase one’s selling point, there’s an important thing to consider when looking at new trends. 5

That’s right, the crumbling of your character.

The collapse of a character is where a huge impact would be dealt to the viewers from the speech and conduct from them, different from their outward appearance or their initial character.

For example, a VTuber that sells themselves as pure to suddenly say, “Die~! You piece of trash~!” The viewers would receive a huge shock, and become a hot topic. 6

There are, of course, two patterns: cases where they aim to intentionally break their character, and cases where they peel away the image they’ve been keeping up masking their true character. 7

There are Vtubers who manage to pull it off, but after careful analysis, it seems the success of such a stunt can only be left to luck and talent. 8

In other words, this method is only viable for geniuses that can produce real results. 9

Well, that was a very long explanation, but let’s think about creating a character that suits me on top of what I’ve mentioned. 10

“Since it’s like this, I sure want to make use of this environment here.” 11

As I obtained a tool that can reproduce anything that can be electronically computerized, I want to attempt many things. 12

I might as well become a VTuber of both sexes. 13

I’ll reach the point where I can use either voice without any uncomfortable feeling. 14

“But, I don’t feel like I can change my personality, so I guess I’ll make a character in accordance with my own.” 15

Even though I may say it’s a software that can reproduce anything, I don’t think that I can reproduce a variety of personalities with my present power. 16

How would I computerize that information? 17

“All right, let’s plan a character based on an ‘obocchama’ personality.” 18

I’m, or rather, the ‘true’ me, is an ‘obocchama’. 19

Since that personality and those memories are copied, I know how to behave like an ‘obocchama’ the best. 20

I’ve settled down with something relatively simple despite the long lecture, but since I can multi-task, it’ll be fine if I increase my characters. First off, let’s wait-and-see. 21

It’s fine if my character collapses, but… 22

“After all, it’s better to aim for being a noble ‘obocchama’~.”

On top of ‘obocchama’ existences being few in the first place, there are also few that can truly behave like one.

I’ll show you the real thing which is not mere roleplay!

Ah, before long, I can increase the number of people, and proclaim myself as a splendid household name. It seems interesting. 23

All right, let’s aim to be the Rothschild of the VTuber world! 24

  1. Arocks141: I want to sin this saying that a ‘madman’ wouldn’t get viewers anyway, but they do. So, instead, I’ll sin this for madmen getting viewers.
  2. Arocks141: The author is practically saying ‘Those who are popular, become popular’ here.
  3. Flowingcloud: This is referring to Kizuna Ai and her company upd8 (now part of her own company Kizuna AI INC. though). Never knew upd8 was part of whatever this ‘big two’ is lmao.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kizuna_AI
Arocks141: Lazemaster, if I have to retl one more sentence, I swear I won’t edit again until I post another of my translations on Yado’s site and piss ALL our readers to hell and back with my terrible translations.
  4. Arocks141: I had to retl this one, but for the sake of lazemaster finally getting off his busy ass to TL something, I’ll forgive it.
  5. Arocks141: I’m out. I’m officially not editing anything else till another of my translations is published on Yado Inn.
  6. Arocks141: Of course, a non-pure Vtuber suddenly yelling out “Die~! You piece of trash~!” is an everyday incident and shall garner neither attention nor interest from anyone.
  7. Arocks141: Oh, sort of like how lazemaster and everyone keeps up the image that they’re lazy when they’re just really busy with studies, work and all that? Wait, no, they’re talking about peeling away false images.
  8. Arocks141: If only I were to show you guys what this sentence was before I edited it…
  9. Arocks141: There is a word for geniuses who don’t produce real results: not geniuses. What? Those are two words? Good job for pointing that out. Keep it up and we might hire you for your nitpicking skills!
  10. Arocks141: Repeating that which has been said a dozen-odd paragraphs back, before beating around the bush once again! Welcome to Yado Inn, where not just the translators, but even the characters inside the stories we translate don’t want to work!
  11. Arocks141: Why, what a wonderful idea! Why didn’t I think of this six chapters ag-Wait a minute…
  12. Arocks141: Stating the obvious to fill the word count! He’s almost like me, but less salty. And we all know my greatest charm is my saltiness!
  13. Arocks141: So, he is straight, genderbent, trap and infinitely narcissistic all in one? Wow, now even I am confused about what I’m reading here.
  14. Arocks141: He’s going the full-trap route already. I have a feeling we won’t be seeing genderbending here.
  15. Arocks141: The apex of acting: playing your literal self in a fictional story. I don’t know what’s more depressing, the fact that this character is insinuating this, or that he may be right on this one.
  16. Arocks141: That’s correct, folks, thoroughly analyzing several thousands of personalities? Piece of cake. But for goodness’s sake, creating one or mix-matching one? That’s too tall a hurdle!
  17. Arocks141: … This story is now daring me to hate it, and still edit it.
  18. Flowingcloud: An ‘obocchama’ is basically a young master, so you can guess what kinda personality that is…
Arocks141: Anyone who actively wants an obocchama personality is basically actively being an asshole. Worse yet, he is actively, knowingly being an asshole. This one deserves double points!
  19. Arocks141: I’ll take this as a confession. That said, the story writer is still an asshole for giving us an obocchama.
  20. Arocks141: Stating the obvious, Dr. Watson would be proud and Sherlock, vexed. Oh, and me, pissed.
  21. Arocks141: Realizing that the lecture was long does not make it any less of a lecture, or long. It only makes you more of an asshole for making us sit through it. Also, after everything, he decides to go through the ‘wait-and-see’ approach, thus promising us more bush-beating.
  22. Arocks141: Was it not just explained that breaking character rarely works? This story is ignoring its very own statements!
  23. Arocks141: This guy’s baseless confidence is actually just appallingly admirable at this point. Like, I can sincerely admire how baselessly confident he is on how successful he’ll be. But ‘can’ doesn’t mean ‘will’.
  24. Arocks141: Of all names to use here, a banking hegemony from the 18th century?! I mean, I know Rothschilds are some of the wealthiest people on earth, but if you’re talking popularity bordering omnipresence, it has to be Google, right?

no, he meant it as a setting for his role.
rotshields are very rich and he plays the rich nobleson role, it is a good match in that regard.
