There are no photos of my parents in my house.

As a result of the big Eastern Bloc Collusion scandal, their existences have been erased.

My father’s name is Keikain Otsumaro.

From his name, his name really told you that he wasn’t the successor. 1

Nonetheless, that blue blood had a use and it seems like that I have been given preferential treatment.

Putting aside my grandfather, records of my grandmother have been erased; this is quite a terrible lineage, isn’t it?

I wonder if those depressed feelings drove my father to become a businessman.

My father Otsumaro joined the Far East Group and took part in its management.

“He was a person who followed the times. It is for this reason that when he gave up on the times, it was pitiful.”

Tachibana, a steward that knew my father, told me in a lonely voice.

The time was before the bubble.

My father had connections with the Far East Bank, which was the local bank in the Yamagata Prefecture, and the Far East Bank provided loans for the development of Far East Land Development that was established by my father.

The Far East Bank, which was only a bank in a regional city, was trying to expand its scale in fear that other banks were going to absorb them. My father roiled up his ambition and set his eye on the north that the Keikain House had ignored, gathering funds using his reputation as a blue blood.

Incidentally, the Keikain House’s Keikain Pharmaceutical had camphor factories in Kyushu and Keika Chemical Industries had factories in Mizushima in the Okayama Prefecture and Yokkaichi in the Mie Prefecture.

After that, going along with the bubble, the Far East Group enlarged their scale and established Far East Hotels as their core business and constructed hotels in every place.

Furthermore, they were planning to establish a resort, but that was when the Eastern Bloc Collusion scandal was exposed.

“What did they do?”

“It was a COCOM violation.” (T/N: Not a spoiler or anything, so here’s the scandal the author most likely based it off: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toshiba-Kongsberg_scandal)

It seems like they were doing something way worse than I thought.

Unwittingly, I had a serious look on me.

It was just before the bubble economy when the idea of building a petrochemical industrial complex at the port of Sakata, where there was shipping service to the Eastern Bloc, was brought up. The petrochemical industrial complex was to be built by Keika Chemical Industry on land prepared by Far East Land Development, and the products would be sold domestically using oil and natural gas imported from the Eastern Bloc. This was the outline of the plan.

However, it was discovered that a large number of machine tools and construction equipment were flowing into the Democratic People’s Republic of Northern Japan. 2

Then, when I tried looking into it, it developed into a large scandal where a large portion of the Far East Group had Eastern Bloc spies mixed in.

Although he was immune from arrest and was not accused of any sins officially, in the end, my father committed suicide, and the Far East Group was absorbed by the Teia Group. The evidence was lost and what was left was the bad debt from the economic bubble burst.

This is me, someone who can’t appear in high society. Normally that is.

Nevertheless, in the game I was a villainess that boasted impressive power.

What did I do?

No.

What was I guilty of?

“Tachibana. Please tell me about my mother some time.”

My parent’s grave was there.

My mother requested on her deathbed to be buried in a place where she could see her homeland across the sea while there were voices of resentment from those from the Keikain House saying “How can he enter the Keikain family grave?”, thus both of them were buried here.

“Borrowing the words from Ojou-sama’s father, ‘she was a person like spring’.”

Her name was Natasha Alexandrovna Romanov.

The purpose of the honeytrap was to attack my grandfather, Keikain Hikomaro, who was the leader of the right wing, according to the information that has emerged in recent years after the consolidation of the Ministry of National Security—an intelligence agency in the Democratic People’s Republic of Northern Japan which governed Sakhalin.

It might have been surprisingly true that the Northern Japanese government was protecting the blood relatives of the Romanov family as a card against the Soviet Union—which was one of their allies—but also to maintain superiority over our country that had the imperial household.

However, when the Berlin Wall fell, the Communist Party, Ministry of National Security, and military caused internal divisions and conflicts, causing the state to collapse. 3

Society does not know because our country intervened.

I digress, but it seems like my mother was from the Romanov household, well, it might be good to call me a member of the Romanov household in a broad sense.

It seems like my mother’s great-grandfather was the Russian Emperor Alexander III. 4

The emperor had a person he loved and thought about marrying her, but he married another person due his duties as the emperor.

However, the child was already in the stomach of the person when he left her. The usual cliche story. 5

And then, from the Russian Revolution through World War II, my mother whose household fell into ruin was used, and the Eastern Bloc planted a honeytrap beside my father.

Thus, I have beautiful blond hair.

“We’ve arrived, Ojou-sama.”

“It’s cold!”

Although three-fourths of my body is Russian, my soul and lifestyle are Japanese, so I wasn’t used to Yamagata’s cold season.

The bouquet I was holding were white lilies, the flower that my mother liked it seems.

It’s somewhat weird that my mother’s grave is a cross while my father’s is a headstone. Well, I pray that both of them are happy in the other world.

I left the bouquet of lilies at my mother’s grave and Tachibana put the bouquet of chrysanthemums on my father’s grave.

Even with this appearance, I call myself Japanese, so put my hands together and chanted a sutra.

“Hail the Buddha, hail the Buddha. Father, Mother, are you doing well? I have been living well thanks to Tachibana, as well as Keiko-san, Aki-san, and Naomi-san. I’m currently in preschool.”

It’s strange.

Although I shouldn’t know my parents, my voice was trembling and my tears were overflowing.

“I am not going over to that side yet, but I’d like to come and visit the grave given the opportunity. Well then, I will see you again.”

When I got up, Tachibana handed me a handkerchief, so I wiped my tears.

I wonder if these were my true feelings?

Or were they the cries from the real Keikain Runa’s heart?

  1. Slavemaster (Cloud): Her father’s name literally means ‘second kid’.
  2. Slavemaster (Cloud): Apparently in this alternative universe, Japan was split into north and south Japan, resembling Korea, Vietnam and other countries.
Slothmaster (Arocks): I’m liking this author more and more with every part I read.
  3. Arocks: Okay, even I am having trouble keeping up with international events at this point in time. Just how much research did this author do?
Cloud: Too much research. That’s why this novel is amazing.
  4. Slavemaster (Cloud): By the way, if you couldn’t tell, the Romanov family is a legit family. Of course, it’s an alternative universe. IRL, the family was executed in the Tuesday Revolution.
  5. Slothmaster (Arocks): See, authors? This is the way to get past pointless cliches. LEARN!!!

  1. I actually know a Japanese woman who is one-quarter Russian because her mother was born in the formerly Japanese half of Sakhalin to a mixed-race couple.

  2. Romanov?! Bitch! You could’ve claim Russian as your birthright! Damn, this mc will be so badass if she became Russian empress somewhat.

  3. >Democratic People’s Republic of Northern Japan

Makes sense. No unconditional surrender meant no nukes where used in early 1945. Which means it’s an ATL where Operation Downfall/Operation Ketsugō went ahead and Japan won their primary wargoal which was to strengthen their own position at the negotiation table. However, the western allies wheren’t the only ones invading, the soviets where too.

They where preparing to invade Hokkaido. Given that Downfall went foward, it’s likely that Hokkaido and northern japan would’ve been taken relatively easily, sense Japan would’ve been pushing all resources into defending Kyushu and Honshu at the battle of the Kanto Plains. also, the invasion would’ve likely taken 2-4 years.

Then a Korea or Vietnam would’ve likely occurred. Soviet occupied Japan would’ve been organized agenst all treaties, and the Americans would’ve push any leader to prevent encroachment of their side of the line.

    >By the way, if you couldn’t tell, the Romanov family is a legit family. Of course, it’s an alternative universe. IRL, the family was executed in the Tuesday Revolution.

A/N is incorrect. The romanovs still live, just under constant threat of assassination and no desire for the throne. Niclos the Second actually had two sisters the died in the sixties from old age. Both had kids, the current “prince” is the descendant of Xeia.
