Character Creation (1) 1

While I proceeded to analyze VTubers, I was thinking about what kind of VTuber I want to be. 2

“First off, there’s the route to debut by applying to a famous company as a group, or the route to do everything personally… Well, going independent is the only option here I guess.” 3 To apply to a company, there’s an interview, and you have to go to the office. 4

Revealing what kind of existence I am is too risky. 5

Also, being able to continue multi-tasking for 24 hours a day, having to do everything by myself as an independent Vtuber isn’t a demerit in my case. 6

However…

“The problem is that I need to make this viral and that I’m unable to spend any money…” 7

Unlike businesses, it’s hard for independents to have fans following in the beginning. 8

The brand value that a company possesses is quite huge, and it’s rather hard for an independent who can’t make noise marketing on their own to cross the wall of 5,000 people, forget 10,000.

Also, in my case, I can’t make an account, so I’m at a bottleneck where I can’t use any games or software that use any money. 9

“I’m also quite limited by the fact that I don’t have a smartphone…” 10

If I had a smartphone, I could play games that are only available as an app and play them live.
11

Gacha streams and that sort is an especially popular genre for VTubers.

Well, it’s a stream that’s built upon their reactions though…

“For the time being, my activities should be streaming free games, just chatting, and music.” 12

In short, there are several types of VTubers: those who are good at streaming games, those who are good at chatting and planning things in advance, those who have special skills like singing or art, and so on. Each VTuber has their own selling point.

Having said so much, I suddenly came up with an idea.

“If I use this software, wouldn’t I be able to instantly create an anime?” 13

At any rate, it’s a learning and reproduction software.

I should be able to easily draw illustrations the way I want them, create videos and music the way I want them, and record songs the way I want them. 14

I’m glad that I can easily grasp the trends of what will be popular. 15

“It’s also nice that I can create the character of my dreams.” 16

First off, the first roadblock an independent meets is to secure their own character. 17

Independents that have money can request one from an artist, but those who don’t have to draw it themselves or find a free one. 18

It’s okay if you go with 3D from the beginning! If you’re that type of person, they can find one on a 3D character model submission co-owned platform called VRoid Hub, but on top of your PC specs needing to be a bit higher, it’s possible to meet with a doppelganger. 19

One of the worse examples was where a while ago, a 3D model that advertised skincare with a VTuber-like behavior started to accumulate hate.

That being said, there were examples when some got their hands on a 2D model after paying several hundred thousand yen and having to retire after being caught up in a scandal involving a bad rumor of the artist. 20

I believe that it’s their own personal freedom to not retire, but if you’re not making your own character, it’s often a well-understood point that you should investigate beforehand and proceed carefully.

Well, thankfully, using this software, there’s no need to worry about those demerits.

Since the illustration software needs to be free, for now, I downloaded MediBang Paint Pro. 21

Well then, what kind of character should I draw? 22

First of all, I have to think about what my selling point is as a character. 23

  1. Arocks141: Aka – “The Process of Genderbending (1)”
  2. Arocks141: Because anyone else analyzing Vtubers is obviously thinking about their stove when analyzing Vtubers.
  3. Arocks141: How does one apply as a group to a famous company, when they’re trying to become a Vtuber whose real face and voice and all life details are unknown?
  4. Arocks141: Why? You’re trying to be a Vtuber! The entire point is that no one knows the real face behind that anime character!
  5. Arocks141: I’m more curious about how you would reveal your existence. How would a digital being go to an office? Do you just hack into their computers? Is that considered going to office?
  6. Arocks141: Because this AI apparently has infinite processing power despite not having a core.
  7. Arocks141: Why is that a problem? Why can’t he just send emails to a whole bunch of people or spread false tweets advertising himself? He is an AI capable of accessing and analyzing over 10,000 Vtubers in the blink of an eye, but he can’t learn basics of hacking?
  8. Arocks141: I still don’t see how or why businesses would have Vtubers.
  9. Flowingcloud: Hello? Ever heard of using virtual cards? Ever heard of pirating?
Arocks141: Alternatively, ever heard of common sense? Tech savviness? Literacy?!
  10. Arocks141: An all-purpose, omnipotent AI is stopped from conquering the Vtuber world due to a lack of available smartphones.
  11. Flowingcloud: I’m getting so pissed. Ever heard of Bluestacks or Nox?
  12. Arocks141: A potentially omnipotent AI took streaming tips from Lazemaster Flowingcloud.
  13. Arocks141: And here we have the sequel: “I became an AI and tried to create an anime”. Let’s all gather this sunday and pray that this does NOT get published!
  14. Arocks141: Then why can’t he:
    1. Learn to hack into accounts and make online transactions with zero net loss/gain?
    2. Learn to make a game to play and stream?
    3. Give a damn about how stupid he is being right now?
  15. Arocks141: “But I will absolutely not adhere to those trends in the writing of this book.” – Author.
  16. Arocks141: Trivial. Inform us when you can make something real turn out to be a dream. That’ll put an end to this nightmare of a story!
  17. Arocks141: Something this guy ought to have done before this story started.
  18. Arocks141: From now on, whenever I find something irrelevant, I shall deign the sin as ‘skip’. Skip!
  19. Flowingcloud: VRoid Hub is basically an open-platform site that lets creators upload their 3D models for people online. Creators can state whether people online can use their 3D models or not (and if so they have to follow the rules set by the creator). Usually, if it’s ok to use, it’s free game to whoever uses it and there might be several users who use the same 3D model since you don’t have to contact the creator (but it’s nice if you do though).

  20. Arocks141: Why would bad rumors about an artist have anything to do with the users of a 2D model?
  21. https://medibangpaint.com/en/pc/
  22. Arocks141: I’m adding a 100 sins to this chapter and all connected ones if it’s a male character.
  23. Arocks141: Cuteness. You evidently don’t have the intelligence to pull off comedy, creativity or originality.

This one is probably wrong for the line it’s responding to. For ‘company’ Vtubers, the company def knows who they are in real. That goes hand in hand with having backing and support.
